Forensic Legal Imagery

TONIGHT at 6:30 pm in Bond 165

In a courtroom, images are often used to present evidence in a powerful and influential manner.

Whether an animated drawing of a bullet's path through a body or a photograph of a fleeting footwear impression, these images  require careful attention during every step of the collection and evidentiary process.

The discussion of this process will be led by two Citadel professors: Prof. Rick Sargent and Prof. Ed Lugo.  In addition to teaching the drawing courses at The Citadel, Prof. Sargent is a  professional medical/legal illustrator who will set the stage for visual evidence from an artistic perspective.  Prof.  Lugo, who teaches the Digital Forensic Photography class and other Criminal Justice courses, will discuss the role of crime scene photographers and the challenges of demonstrative evidence admissibility using professional and student examples.

If you are interested in criminal justice, law, art, forensics, or just a true crime fan, please make plans to join us.

Keep in mind, though, that these images are not for the faint of heart!

Presented in partnership between the Fine Arts Club and the Criminal Justice Society.
