Open to all rising 5th-8th grade students, this interdisciplinary camp is taught by highly-qualified Citadel faculty, staff, and cadets and offers a taste of the college experience with intensive hands-on engagement combining science, technology, and the arts.
Camp is taught on The Citadel campus at 171 Moultrie Street in Charleston daily from 9 am to 3 pm. Small class size grouped by age and we do our best to honor grouping requests.
Cost is $250/week with multi-week, sibling, and Citadel faculty discounts. Snacks are provided but please bring lunch from home each day. A limited number of fee reduction waivers are available for Title I Schools.
Week 1: ESCAPE ROOM (June 4-8)
Unlock puzzles and photograph the forensic evidence. Retired Secret Service Agent Ed Lugo and Citadel Photography Professor Kevin Free will explore cryptography, codes, ciphers and more, then photograph the forensic evidence! Earn the Boy Scout merit badges
for Fingerprinting and Photography.
Week 2: MOVIE MAGIC (June 11-15)
Animate the digital body on screen and stage in our Digital Media Lab using the latest in creative software. Citadel Art Professor Rick Sargent and Citadel Professor Dr. Sarah Imam will lead this experiment of the body in motion. Earn the Boy Scout merit badges
for Animation and Sculpture.
Week 3: FARM TO TABLE (June 18-22)
Discover seed science and cooking chemistry at our hydroponic garden and find out how tasty your efforts can be! STEM Director Dr. Jennifer Albert and Fine Arts Director/Professor Tiffany Silverman will engage all the senses this week! Earn the Boy Scout merit
badges for Art and Plant Science (partial.)
